Class Time:
A total of 135 hours are provided in this MLD/CDT Certification Course; 105 hours of classroom instructions are given over a 19 calendar day period. Class hours for each week are as follows: Monday thru Thursday from 8:30am — 5:00pm and Friday 8:00am — 12:30pm. In addition, the completion of a 30 hour Home Study Course is expected prior to the start of the course.

Home Study Course:
A Home Study Course will be sent to each participant prior to the class. This portion of the training consists of a Home Study Course Manual, a videotape about the treatment of lymphedema and the newly published "Textbook of Lymphology" by Prof. Dr. M. Földi, Dr. E. Földi and Prof. S. Kubik (EDS). Approximately 30 hours of home study are expected of each student prior to the first day of class. The Home Study Course will provide an opportunity for each student to develop a more extensive knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system as it will facilitate the smooth entry and progression of the training.

Pre-requisites:
The following professions are accepted for training; Medical Doctors, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Nurses, Massage Therapists

Tuition:
The total tuition for the course is $2,500.00 (U.S. currency). A deposit of $500.00 is required at the time of registration and will hold your spot until the total amount is received two (2) weeks prior to the first day of class. Certificate / Continuing Education Credits (CEU’s) / LANA Certification:
Participants will receive, upon successful completion and the passing of the written and practical final exams, a certificate as Therapist for Manual Lymph Drainage (Vodder Technique)/ Complete Decongestive Therapy. CEU’s are available for Physical Therapists through the Florida Physical Therapy Association and for Massage Therapists through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

Upon successful completion of this MLD/CDT Certification Course as well as meeting the practical experience requirements set fourth by the Lymphology Association of North America (LANA), participants may apply to sit for the LANA exam. Getting there by Train:

Frankfurt Airport – The train station is on the lower level of Frankfurt Airport. You can purchase a ticket and get information (in English) about times and connections. Take the IC (Intercity train) to Freiburg/Breisgau, Germany. From there you will switch to the “Hoellentalbahn” (commuter train) directly to Hinterzarten. The trip from Frankfurt to Freiburg will take approximately 2½ -3 hours, from Freiburg to Hinterzarten it will take approximately 45 minutes.

Zurich Airport - The train station is on the lower level of Zurich Airport. You can purchase a ticket and get information (in English) about times and connections. This train will take you to the main train station in the City of Zurich. From the main station you may have to change once or twice to Freiburg, Germany. Some trains go from Zurich (main station) to Freiburg, Germany, others only to Basel, Switzerland and you will have to change once more. All will be explained to you and will be written on the ticket, including information on platform and train number. Note: when making train reservations from Zurich to Freiburg, please make sure to ask for Freiburg, Germany. There is also a Freibourg in Switzerland (different spelling but same pronunciation). From Freiburg/Breisgau, Germany you’ll take the "Hoellentalbahn" (Commuter Train) directly to Hinterzarten. This train departs every half-hour.

by Car:
Hinterzarten is located on Highway "B 31" which connects to major Highways (Autobahn) such as A 81 (from Stuttgart and Lake Constance) or A5 (from Frankfurt, Germany and Basel, Switzerland); Driving directions from your arrival airport to Hinterzarten will be available at the rental car agency.

• Private Rooms (Pension or Guesthouse/B&B) - available in price ranges from 25.00–60.00€ /per person/per night Note: Most prices include breakfast, lunch and dinner are available in Hotels and Pensions
• Should the accommodation be within walking distance to the Foeldi Clinic.
  (Keep in mind that even a distance of one or two miles will provide an opportunity for a nice stroll before or after class)
• Any other special needs you may have during your stay in Hinterzarten and surroundings.
